Amphibious dredging excavator on tracked pontoon with long-reach yellow boom and dredge pump attachment, operating on a gravel surface in a quarry.

    DREDGING IN A GOLD MINE

For a customer in Oceania, Bell produced a fully line-of-sight remote controlled amphibious excavator equipped with a Bell 250 dredge pump and power pack.

Amphibious Bell dredging excavator (BAE300) with extended long-reach arm and cutter head attachment, positioned on pontoon tracks at a quarry mining site with rocky cliffs in the background.

All functions, including pump, side pontoon- and power pack control can be operated from 200 meters away as well as from the cabin. Bell Service engineers commissioned and trained the customer’s personnel.

Guaranteeing operator safety in an hazardous environment

The operating area of the machine is a large gold mine where flash floods, cave-ins of the walls and sinkholes can compromise operator safety. Therefore Bell completely took away the need for someone to be in the cabin.
