Gloucester Docks winter dredging

Bell Dredging Equipment used in Gloucester Dock’s biggest ever winter dredging.

Through our U.K. dealer Watson & Hillhouse Ltd Bell supplied two sets of Bell 200 pumps complete with power packs and floating discharge lines.

Excavator-mounted dredging pump on a barge named Deptford 2 in a harbor, with suction hoses in the water and the historic Alexandra Warehouse building in the background.
Floating dredge pipeline with yellow buoyancy floats extending across a harbor basin, connected via a crane-suspended hose assembly to a dredge pump unit at a steel quay wall, with historic warehouse buildings in the background.
Crane lifting a heavy-duty dredge pump with cutter head attachment from the water onto a wooden dock, with a red workboat and canal-side buildings in the background.

Due to drought in the past year, sediment had built up in the docks making it impossible for vessels to navigate.
One excavator mounted Bell 200 dredge pump was fitted with a water jet assisted cutter head, while the other Bell 200 was suspended from a crane and thus fitted with a double cutter head.
