Our valued customer Heerema Marine Contractors sent us these beautiful pictures of a Bell 200 with heavy duty cutter head which are part of their Heerema’s Subsea Excavator.
Besides the dredge pump and heavy duty cutter head Bell supplied high pressure water jet pumps which are visible at the right end of the tool. These pumps provide the heavy duty cutter head with jetting water to further agitate the material subsea.
With a cutting power of up to 55 kW this set up is used in decommissioning when sand, clay, grout or other material needs to be dredged away from platform jackets before they can be cut and removed.
